Fragile Planet
(2019-2021)
For ‘Fragile Planet’, Fiona looked at the importance of maintaining natural green environments within urban city spaces. With influences of climate activism and overgrown nature, Fiona Alice used striking graphics and social semiotics to discuss the importance of planetary action whilst aiming for Earthtopia.
Through reclaiming waste and found materials, Fiona used natural and sustainable materials to develop her ideas into textile art pieces with a statement, to create an emotive response and encourage a more humane engagement with the climate battle. Presenting the final pieces as a public art installation.
Definition of Earthtopia: A hopeful future, where all coexist in harmony on Earth and strive for a better world together.
